Hillary Clinton position on the War in Iraq:
• As a senator in October 2002, Clinton voted to support a joint resolution to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq. • She has since stated that she 'certainly would not have voted for the war' had she known then what she knows now. • Clinton's position includes limiting the number of troops sent to Iraq, a phased redeployment of troops and sets conditions for the Iraqi government to continue receiving funds.

Hillary Clinton position on Immigration:
• Clinton supports tougher border patrol laws, building a border wall and discouraging businesses from hiring illegal aliens. • She would develop an employer verification system and raise penalties for employers who exploit illegal immigrants. • She supports amnesty / permanent legalization for illegal aliens and temporary legalization for illegal aliens as guest workers. • She backs a guest worker program for immigrants only if it does not undermine US workers wages. • Supports a path to citizenship for most illegal aliens already in the country.

Hillary Clinton position on Health Care:
• Clinton supports universal health care. • She supports lower prescription drug costs and would required drug companies to offer fair prices. • Her health care plan would require all Americans to have or get health insurance and forces insurance companies to give coverage to everyone without discrimination based on pre-existing conditions. • Clinton would create a public-private partnership, Individuals would keep existing coverage, choose a public plan similar to Medicare or choose from private insurance options. • Her plan creates new federal subsidies for those who can't afford coverage. • Small businesses would receive tax breaks to provide health coverage and larger businesses would be mandated to provide health insurance or help pay for it.

• She advocates curbing gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050 and a cap and trade system for carbon emissions. • She supports the creation of a $50 billion fund, paid for in part by oil company?s profits, to pay for research and investments in alternative energy. • Clinton supports boosting fuel efficiency standards to 55 miles per gallon by 2030. • She wants to require publicly traded companies to report financial risks due to climate change in annual reports. • She advocates requiring new federal office buildings to be emissions neutral.

Hillary Clinton position on the Economy:
• She supports incentives for businesses to create jobs. • Her $70-billion economic plan included $30 billion for states and localities to prevent foreclosures, $25 billion for energy assistance to low-income families, $5 billion for energy-efficiency measures and $10 billion for unemployment insurance. • Clinton advocates a 90 day moratorium on sub prime foreclosures and a 5-year rate freeze on sub prime mortgages. • She proposed tax rebates totaling $40 billion. • Clinton is an advocate of middle-class tax breaks.

• Clinton is in very strong opposition to private-school voucher proposals. • She believes that the 'No Child Left Behind' program needs to be changed, saying that it's forcing teachers to focus too much on standardized tests.

Hillary Clinton position on the Foreign Affairs:
• She supports engagement and UN Sanctions against Iran. • Clinton is calling for a stronger US and international response to the situation in Darfur.

Hillary Clinton position on Tax and Taxation:
• Clinton wants to repeal the Bush administration tax cuts for those earning $250,000 or more annually. • She supports permanent tax relief for married couples. • She would offer college tuition tax deductions and credits for children and adoption. • She supports wage credits for businesses to boost the creation of jobs. • She would raise tax rates on "carried interest" gains made by senior partners in the private equity and hedge fund businesses.

• Clinton voted to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. • She has rules out unconditional talks with Iran but is willing to hold direct deliberations under the right circumstances; • She believes that the US should be prepared to offer incentives to Tehran if Iran ends its nuclear weapons ambitions, renounces sponsorship of terrorism, supports the Middle East peace process and plays a constructive role in stabilizing Iraq.
