Declared 2012
Libertarian Presidential Candidate
Former Governor of New Mexico
Gary Johnson
Johnson Position on Health Care
Johnson believes that a bloated legislative and regulatory environment has deprived the competition factor from our healthcare system, leading to government sanctioned monopolies. The solution lies with reintroducing a free market platform with flexibility to choose providers and plans as provided for in the Commerce Clause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 3). This will eventually bring down costs to more manageable levels and weed out inefficient segments of the system.
